A buttweld fitting is a pipe fitting formed by welding two pieces of pipe together. Buttweld fittings are generally described as having a female or male end, but in reality, both ends are welded to the pipes. The female end consists of an opening in the pipe designed to accept a male end. The male end has threads and is designed to be inserted into the female opening.
Buttweld fittings are available in many types and sizes. They are used for joining pipes in many different applications such as water supply, gas supply, drainage and waste system etc.
